22 a Day

When I woke up the other morning, I received a text from a dear friend. The message I read made my heart sink and my stomach rise due to the awful news that we hear all too often. The death of a friend, a veteran, a hero to suicide. Our military...

  • Our community board got a lot of love this week. Always sad saying goodbye to our patients, but we’re so grateful for our time together and to be a part of their healing journey.
  • Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is one of the most revolutionary innovations in modern healthcare, and we're proud to utilize this therapeutic modality at @revivecenters in our treatment programs for traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-concussion syndrome, stroke, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

Revive Therapy Spotlight: Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)

rTMS utilizes electromagnetic waves to directly stimulate neuron pools within the brain. We are able to provide Theta Burst Stimulation, the latest in advancements in repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, which is FDA approved for depression and has proven to be beneficial for anxiety, Parkinson’s, and many other diseases and disorders.

rTMS is a non-invasive method of brain stimulation that relies on electromagnetic induction using an insulated coil placed over the scalp, focused on the area of the brain that has been affected by the mTBI or stroke. The coil generates brief magnetic pulses, which pass easily and painlessly through the skull and into the brain. The pulses generated are of the same type and strength as those generated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines. When these pulses are administered in rapid succession, it is referred to as “repetitive TMS“ or “rTMS”, which can produce longer lasting changes in brain activity.

  • ⚡️SSEP⚡️utilizes electrical currents to stimulate both peripheral and cranial nerves in order to activate specific areas of the central or peripheral nervous system. ⚡️
🧠

SSEP utilizes a non-invasive electrical current that, when applied directly to certain nerves in the face and body, can stimulate and upregulate areas of the brain affected by traumatic brain injury, stroke, neuropathy, or neurodegenerative disease. Based on each patient’s extensive diagnostic testing, Revive‘s doctors create a treatment plan that targets the exact nerves that will activate the parts of the brain affected by the patient’s condition. Some cranial nerves that are often stimulated by SSEP are the hypoglossal nerve (Cranial Nerve XII) and the trigeminal nerve (Cranial Nerve V) for neurological conditions. For many of our stroke and TBI patients learning to walk again, we utilize our gait protocol. Our gait protocol stimulates the saphenous nerve and tibial nerve in various places in the leg(s) affected by the stroke, priming the neural pathways with electrical stimulation in order to increase communication to and from the brain, optimizing our patients’ ability to re-develop these damaged neural pathways.
  • ❣️Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy❣️(HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment, at a level higher than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA). Increased pressure allows for oxygen to dissolve and saturate the blood plasma (independent of hemoglobin/red blood cells), which yields a broad variety of positive physiological, biochemical and cellular effects. This noninvasive therapy is the most trusted way to increase oxygen levels to all organs of the body. The typical treatment lasts for 60-90 minutes, during which the patient lies down and breathes normally. HBOT has been demonstrated in several clinical studies to enhance the body’s innate ability to repair and regenerate. It is used in our facility as an adjunct therapy to complement and enhance the healing process in both chronic and acute conditions. ❣️
🧠
For more information on HBOT, please visit our website (link in bio) or copy/paste www.revivecenters.com/HBOT into your web browser.
  • Epic riding high up last week with my good friend Guenter Bergman (@guent) at Breckenridge. May these chilly days find us all with warm hearts and fires in the belly.
  • “When I met Donna and the Defenders of Freedom, I was at a point in my life of.. not wanting to live. I went through some things.. hit my head a few times. Now I feel more optimistic about life. I’m very, very grateful for that. They saved my life.” ⭐️ 🧠
This is a clip from the new Defenders of Freedom video showcasing our partnership and what we’re offering for Veterans struggling to readjust to civilian life. We are so grateful to be involved in the healing process for struggling Veterans, and this partnership has us feeling extremely optimistic about the future of care for our nation’s heroes. The transformations we’ve seen in our clinic over the short (but intense) 10-day treatment periods have been truly profound, as these men and women go from suicidal to functional in less than two weeks. 🧠

This video will hit home for those of us with service members in our families, as Tyler opens up about his difficult experiences coping with PTSD when trying to adjust to civilian life. It was an absolute pleasure getting to spend time with Tyler during his 10 days at our clinic, and we’re so excited to see where he goes from here.
  • From suicidal to functional after only 10 days of treatment. We’re on a mission to change the way people think about traumatic brain injury, stroke, ptsd, and concussion recovery.. one brain at a time. On average we see a 41% decrease in depression scores when comparing pre-treatment to post-treatment evaluations.
